I was surprised to see Malachy O’Connor has left Tesco. O’Connor had been the fresh food commercial director for the country’s second largest retailer but is heading to pastures new. He was in charge of all fresh food buying here. Farmers may not recognise the name, but he was important to them. Like all great people, he’s becoming a consultant in the food area. I wish I could be a consultant.
