A good entry of Friesian bull calves saw a slight improvement in prices, with Friesian bulls selling from €80 to €130/head for average-quality types, while stronger aged Friesian bull calves sold to a very strong top price of €245/head.
In general terms, the best prices were received for stronger, older calves. Hereford and Angus bull calves sold from a low of €160 for a light young Angus to a top price of €425 for an aged Hereford.

Heifers sold from €135 to €365, with the majority of good-quality Angus and Herefords making from €160 to €250. Continental bull calves sold to a top price of €445, while continental heifers sold to €425. Store heifers were once again met with firm farmer demand. Prices ranged mainly from €270 over the weight to €775 over the weight. The majority of continental heifers sold from €500 over to €735 over the weight. Demand for continental bullocks was strong also, with prices ranging from €330 to €740 over the weight.
Commission rates are €6 to the buyer for calves and €3 to €8 to the seller depending on the sale price.
