Bord Bia is undergoing a restructure, I’m told.

The Quality Assurance and Origin Green departments have merged and will be headed up by Michael Maloney.

Farmers will surely raise an eyebrow at the merging of meat and horticulture, with the new department unit to be headed up by Mike Neary.

The sector managers within the meat department remain unchanged, including Joe Burke (beef and livestock manager); Declan Fennell (lamb manager); Peter Duggan (pigmeat and poultry manager); and Mark Zieg (meat promotions manager).

Ailish Forde, formerly of Coca-Cola, HBC Ireland and Diageo Ireland, was appointed food and beverage strategy and planning director. Eimear O’Donnell has been appointed dairy sector manager. and will report to Ailish Forde and there is an opening for a dairy executive. Padraig Brennan will head up an expanded routes to market team while Una Fitzgibbon, director of marketing services, will oversee a merged marketing and communications division.
