Manufacturers from all over the globe are exhibiting their products to the thousands of visitors walking the many brightly lit halls. Hundreds of thousands of euros have been spent setting up the huge stands for this week-long exhibition. In this week’s machinery pages, we take a look at a selection of the companies that launched new equipment with incredible fanfare. Some of the machinery is designed for large dairy and tillage farms whereas other products appeal to the masses.
Also announced at Agritechnica was tractor of the year 2018. In a stiffly fought competition, the winner was chosen by an international jury with strict criteria for final selection. This award is seen by the winner as being equivalent to gold medal status in the Olympics.

In more local news, Pöttinger Ireland recently announced a new dealer for Co Kilkenny. O’ Shea Agri in Castlecomer has been appointed dealer to handle the full range of equipment from the Austrian manufacturer. Pöttinger was keen to stress its commitment to Irish farmers, with a full sales, service and parts team present at the announcement to support the Irish dealers.
