Islavale Hugo 16 claims Stirling Simmental championship
The Irish Farmers Journal is at Stirling this week for the second round of the renowned sales, with the Simmental, Salers and Charolais breeds taking centre stage.
Islavale Hugo 16 took the Simmental title at Stirling in Scotland on Sunday for Messrs Stronach.
This March 2016-born bull was earlier in the day awarded senior champion title before being tapped forward by judge Anne MacPherson of the Blackfield herd as overall champion.
This bull is homebred on both sides and is sired by Islavale Echo 2 13, a Curaheen Wakeman son.

Reserve Simmental champion Auchorachan Hunter 16.
The day's reserve overall championship went the way of D & R Durno and sons for their bull Auchorachan Hunter 16. Another senior bull, this one is sired by Auchorachan Elgin 13 and out of a Saltire Talent-bred dam.
This week the Simmental, Salers and Charolais breeds take centre stage at the renowned sales.
The action starts on Monday, with females and the major reduction of the Woodhall herd at 10.30am, and the bulls at 12.45pm.
