Micheál Ó Muircheartaigh stars in the new Agri Aware advert.
The vital role the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) plays in Ireland for both farmers and consumers is the theme of this year’s Agri Aware TV advert.
Micheál Ó Muircheartaigh is the star of the 30-second advert saying: “We feed our cities the gift of our precious land,” highlighting how farmers fuel the country.
Agri Aware is the agri-food educational body responsible for educating consumers across Ireland and beyond about farming and food.
Its latest advert fairly hits the spot, showing where our food comes from right through to where it ends up – on dinner plates across the country.

With Agri Aware, the NDC, Bord Bia and Meat and Dairy Facts already on the pitch, why are there talks around setting up a separate grouping to present the truth around farming to the public?
The proposed entity would be tasked with countering the negative portrayal of agriculture in relation to the environment, water quality, biodiversity loss and climate change.
A position from the European Parliament is expected to be adopted before the end of April.
