According to RSA statistics, there was a 77% jump in the number of octogenarians getting learner tractor licences between 2013 and 2017.
Some 206 applicants aged 80+ were granted learner tractor licences last year, though The Dealer has to add that car and tractor licences are granted as one. While the Dealer is aware there is a farm labour shortage in the country, perhaps pimping out granny to do the silage contracting might be a step too far.
