Ireland has become the first EU beef exporter to secure access to China, where demand for beef products is growing substantially.
The country secured access to supply China with frozen boneless beef in April this year after several years of negotiations.

China is currently Ireland's second-biggest export market for dairy and pork, and there are high hopes that market demand for Irish beef will follow this trend.

The five exporters were previously placed on standby for approval by Minister Creed.
McCarren's is the latest pigmeat exporter to be announced after approval was delayed in May.
Speaking earlier this year, Minister Creed emphasised the importance of the market to Irish beef.
“I firmly believe that our beef industry can and will compete effectively in the Chinese market and I look forward to the opportunities that this access will bring."
