Holstein bulls reached a sale-topping 2,900gns at the society’s autumn show and sale at Kilrea mart. A total of eight bulls sold to an average of £2,054, with a 73% clearance rate.

Leading the sale was the February 2017-born Inch Brendan, sired by Blackisle Benloyal and bred by Jim Morrison from Inch Genetics, Downpatrick.

The supreme champion went to Norman McCollum, Coleraine for his February 2017-born animal, Bellemont Model, which later sold for 2,350gns. The reserve champion was awarded to Inch Hobby and sold for 2,300gns. At the same price was another bull, Inch Class, from the same herd.
