On Thursday (22 November), the Cooney Furlong Machinery Company held an official open evening at its new premises on the Old Dublin Road, Enniscorthy, Co Wexford.

It is estimated that in excess of 2,000 machinery enthusiasts from all over the country flocked to the southeast to witness in excess of €4.5m worth of machinery on display.

The mouth-watering display of machinery included Case tractors, Krone grassland equipment, Vaderstad tillage equipment and both Amazon grassland and tillage equipment.

Tractors

A total of 47 tractors were on display at the event. These ranged in power from 100hp right up in excess of 600hp.

This included 37 brand new tractors, seven ex-hire tractors and three secondhand tractors.

The stand-out tractor on display was the Case IH Quadtrac 620, Ireland’s largest tractor.

The evening marked the opening of the new purpose-built state-of-the-art premises. The premises is built on a 1.5ac site.

Facilities

The building includes the main showroom and offices, an outside display area (half roofed), a tractor workshop where up to 10 tractors can be simultaneously worked on, with a Puisi touchscreen fluid dispensing system and a two tier parts store.

The new premises will be home to ten employees. This is broken down to five people in the service department, three in sales and two in parts and warranty.

After the event, Maeve Furlong explained: “We are overwhelmed with the positive feedback from our customers and we look forward to working with these people going forward.”
