Well attended
Beet Ireland has already held two meetings, one for Irish Tillage and Land Use Society (ITLUS) members and one for the Irish Grain Growers Group (IGGG).
Both those meetings were in Carlow and were well attended.
Beet Ireland wants to establish a co-op of about 1,000 growers to be significant shareholders in the €300m project, ideally majority shareholders.
The initial step is for a €1,000 investment from shareholders.
This finance would bring the project through the planning and blueprint stage.
The current round of meetings is intended to generate the required level of support for the project, which Beet Ireland has been working on for seven years.
