Minister for Agriculture Michel Creed confirmed that balancing payments of 30% have now begun to issue today on schedule.

Those in the 2018 National Reserve and the Young Farmers Scheme will begin to receive payment today.
Significant boost
In addition, 90,000 farmers have received €217m under the Areas of Natural Constraint (ANC) scheme.
Minister Creed also confirmed that payments under the Beef Data and Genomics Programme (BPGP) will commence shortly.
Commenting on today’s payments, he said: “My Department continues to issue these payments at a rate which compares very favourably to the systems in place in other member states and these payments provide a significant financial boost for individual farmers and the wider rural economy.”
He urged all farmers who have outstanding queries from the Department to respond as soon as possible in order to facilitate payment.
