Pat McDonagh, founder and head of Supermac’s will address the main stage at the Agri Careers Expo on 14 February in the RDS. The Galway native who founded the fast food chain in the late 1970s, will be one of the keynote speakers on the day, discussing this career path that led him to become one of Ireland’s most recognisable and successful businesspeople.
Formerly a teacher, Pat McDonagh founded the company in 1978 in Ballinasloe. In early 2018, the company confirmed that it is to create 400 new jobs and open four new restaurants across Ireland, bringing the number employed to 3,100 across 114 outlets.
Expansion of the company has proved fruitful for McDonagh and in 2017, the business accounted for pre-tax profits of just under €22m with sales at €157m.
