TEST yourself at Mayo’s Up and Over Challenge setting off from Lahardane this Saturday afternoon 13 April. The course begins with a 3.5km climb from Lahardane village to the foot of Nephin Mountain. This is followed by an ascent from Carrowskeheen and descent down by Cloughbrack and then onto a 6.5km road run back to the village. At 806m, Nephin Mountain is even higher than Croagh Patrick and encompasses the breathtaking views of Clew Bay to the west and Lough Conn and Lough Cullen to the east. Registration is online.
DELVE into one of the greatest historic events as this Monday 15 April marks 107 years since the sinking of RMS Titanic. Belfast Titanic Society will hold a small service of remembrance at the Memorial Garden in Belfast City Hall followed by an afternoon of tailored tours of the public areas of the Titanic Quarter. Visitors will have the opportunity to see Harland & Wolff, where they will take in historic maritime-related material.
