Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority are investigating the death of a three-year-old child following an incident on a farm in Co Wexford.

Gardaí are investigating the incident in a farmyard at Carrigabruise, Carlerys Bridge, Enniscorthy, Co Wexford.

At approximately 4.30pm on Wednesday afternoon, a three-year-old boy received serious injuries when he was hit by a low loader.

He was taken to Wexford General Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Investigations are continuing.
