Met Éireann has issued a status red wind warning for Clare and Kerry as Storm Hannah is set to usher in strong northwesterly winds.
Average speeds will reach 80km/h, with violent gusts of up to 150km/h.
The warning for Co Kerry is in effect from 6pm to 8pm on Friday 26 April, while the warning for Co Clare is in effect from 8pm to 11pm.
Other warnings
Met Éireann has issued a status orange wind warning for Cork, Clare, Limerick and Kerry.
Storm Hannah is set to hit our shores on Friday 26 April at 4pm.
Heavy rain, squalls, gusts and gales are expected to have an impact overnight until 5am on Saturday morning.
Average wind speeds of 65km/h to 80km/h and gusts of up to 130km/h are expected.
Coastal regions in Munster are expected to be the worst affected by strong northwesterly winds, but Met Éireann has warned that parts of Connacht could also be hit.
There is also a status yellow wind warning in place for Connacht, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Wexford, Wicklow, Offaly, Donegal, Tipperary and Waterford.
The warning is in place from Friday 26 April at 11pm to 9am the following morning.
