IFA president Joe Healy has said that his organisation’s planned protest will not be foiled by a last-minute venue change by the Cabinet.

The IFA is demanding that the Government delivers a Brexit aid package worth €101m to beef farmers.

A protest had originally been planned to take place outside a Cabinet meeting at Blackrock Castle but the location of the Cabinet has been changed to City Hall, Co Cork.

“The Government can run, but it can’t hide. We’ll be at City Hall tomorrow with the main rally timed for 10.30am,” Healy said.

“Beef farmers need a Brexit support package and we will be sending a strong message to the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and his Cabinet tomorrow.

“They can have the meeting wherever they like. We’ll be there.”
