Breian Carrol has been appointed as the new general secretary of the Agricultural Consultants Association (ACA).

The Roscommon native is a former president of the organisation and is the managing director of Carroll Consultancy, an agricultural firm based in Swinford, Co Mayo.

“My appointment to the position of general secretary in the ACA is an acknowledgement and commitment by our association and its members that we want to be part of and contribute to the future direction of the farm advisory service in this country,” Carroll said.

Owen O’Driscoll, current president of the ACA, said that Carroll’s appointment was fundamental to “part of our long-term plan”.
