The uncertainty around Brexit and the current climate for beef have had a direct effect on the sale of slats and concrete, Tom Walsh from Doyle Concrete has said. The Kilkenny-based supplier told the Irish Farmers Journal that demand for concrete has reduced 25% in recent months.

“We have received a series of cancellations in the run-up to Brexit, it’s the uncertainty around it,” he said.

Fogarty Concrete in Tipperary has also noticed a decrease in demand.
