Lisduff Holstein sale

This Saturday also sees the 36th Lisduff sale of calved or in-calf heifers. The sale, which will be held on the Lisduff farm in Whitechurch, Co Cork, starts at noon and will see over 110 lots go through the ring.

Included in the sale are 35 fresh autumn-calved heifers. These were all in-calf to sexed semen, so their young heifer calves will also be sold as A lots. The sale will also see 45 spring 2020-calving heifers go under the hammer of Dennis Barrett.

The sale animals all come from very strong cow families, many originating from select purchases in France (Indianink and Neottie), Germany (Ellen), Italy (Letale), Canada (Sasha) and the Leslie, Ada and Zandra families originating from the USA.

These families have been developed over the years with the use of 100% AI and more recently incorporating the use of sexed semen.

Sire selection is focused on production, fertility and conformation and top AI sires for these traits are selected from around the world.
