Dawn Farms, Europe’s largest cooked meat ingredients company, has acquired Haas, a German cooked meats specialist. Haas is a mid-sized, family-owned cooked and fermented protein supplier mainly focussed on the pizza sector. It was established in 1994. Dawn Farms is already the largest supplier to the pizza sector in Europe and it exports a range of products to 44 international markets.

Our ongoing strategy to expand and grow in Europe has always been based on identifying clear market opportunities

Dawn Farms chief executive Larry Murrin said establishing a manufacturing presence in Germany was an important step.

Despite having a strong business in the UK, he said: “Our ongoing strategy to expand and grow in Europe has always been based on identifying clear market opportunities across our existing customer base.”

The business, which supplies cooked and fermented meats to the food manufacturing and foodservice industries, is 90% owned by the Queally family (who also control a majority stake in Dawn Meats through the Arrow Group).

The remaining 10% of Dawn Farms is owned by Larry Murrin.
