Honour

Irish Farmers Journal AgriBusiness reporter Lorcan Allen said: “It’s a real honour to have been shortlisted for Business Journalist of the Year. The Irish Farmers Journal has always pushed its journalists to produce in-depth analysis, investigative reports and unique content for our readers.

“I’d like to thank my editor and all my colleagues in the Irish Farmers Journal for their support because it’s very much a team effort that goes into producing high-quality journalism."

Anne O'Donoghue said: "I am thrilled to be nominated for Best Use of Video by NewsBrands Ireland. It shows the value of the Irish Farmers Journal using multimedia to enhance our print and online offerings.

“In particular, I would like to thank the video team who worked with me on this project and lent their exceptional talents to helping illustrate stories in more ways than one.”

Outstanding entries

Commenting on the awards shortlist, Tim Vaughan, chair of the judging panel, said: “It’s no secret that journalism is under siege but you wouldn’t know it from this year’s entries.

“They were simply outstanding across the board, speaking truth to power and revealing what otherwise would have stayed hidden, as well as informing and entertaining with insight and brilliance.”

The full list of nominees is available here and the awards are due to take place on 14 November 2019.
