New Holland has introduced a range of upgrades to its CX7 and CX8 combine ranges. These include a new optional drum, improved in-cab controls and a Stage V-compliant engine.
The CX7 and CX8 feature New Holland’s four-drum threshing system. The company is now offering a new, optional staggered drum, which features offset rasp bars on the sectional drum. They are suitable for small grains and can be configured for maize.

The firm claims the staggered drum design achieves a smoother crop flow that results in lower in-cab noise and reduces blockages. It also notes that it uses 16% less total threshing power, reducing fuel consumption. This feature increases the combine’s capacity by up to 10%.
New Holland has added in-cab controls for more features. The sieve and pre-sieve are now remotely adjustable on the go and the distance between the rotary separator and the concave can now be controlled remotely from the cab.
The pivoting spout is controlled via a multifunction handle.
The CX range features a new patented air-based distribution system for the twin-disc chaff spreader.
The operator can control the speed of the spreader from the cab in response to crop or weather conditions.
To comply with the latest Stage V emissions standards, the firm has introduced a new after-treatment system developed by FPT Industrial.
