C’mere ‘Til I Tell You a Good One – 16 November: C’mere ‘Til I Tell You a Good One promises to be a night of stories and yarns with Mick Creagh in the Birr Theatre & Arts Centre. Mick Creagh is a singer, actor, poet and farmer and he does not agree with the complaints that there are no characters anymore. Creagh will share “good ones”, songs and poems from and about characters from his native parish of Rathdowney/Errill in southwest Co Laois. Tickets start at €12. Much Ado About Nothing – 20 November: Rough Magic Theatre Company, in co-production with Kilkenny Arts Festival, will perform Shakespeare’s most romantic comedy drama in The Backstage Theatre, Longford, on 20 November. The play follows the course of two star-crossed relationships as rumours and lies threaten to tear them both apart. The Report – out now: The story of The Report follows a US senate staffer Daniel Jones, whose boss Senator Diane Feinstein, gives him the job of leading an investigation into the CIA’s post detention and interrogation programme in the aftermath of 9/11. Jones’s search for the truth shows just how far the top intelligence agency went to destroy evidence, subvert the law and hide a shocking secret from the American public. The Report stars Adam Driver and Annette Bening and is directed by Scott Z Burns. It’s rated 15A and is a thriller based on actual events.

Phil Coulter: Return to Tranquillity – 17 November: Phil Coulter will play the Theatre Royal in Waterford on 17 November as part of his nationwide tour. Coulter has enjoyed a long career as a songwriter, producer and recording artist with chart entries in every decade since the 1960s. Coulter’s successful outputs range from Eurovision winners to folk classics, tender ballads and sporting anthems. The night will include some of his big hits along with many others as he will go through his 50 years of creativity. Tickets cost €31. For more see www.theatreroyal.ie.

Fundraising dance – 18 November: Dance the night away in the Charleville Park Hotel at the fundraising dance. This dance is in aid of Cuan Mhuire Treatment Centre, Bruree, Co Limerick, and takes place on 18 November. The treatment centre can accommodate 130 people, and each year there are approximately 650 admissions to the centre. Punchestown Winter Festival – 16&17 November: The Punchestown Winter Festival runs over two days with the first grade one of the Punchestown season on 16 November. The Unibet Morgiana Hurdle is considered a key indicator for the spring festival champion hurdles. This race was won numerous times by Hurricane Fly so it is a season debut for some of the biggest names in racing. Admission starts at €10 with Winter Winner Bundle tickets costing €30 each.
