A Longford farmer is offering a cash reward for information leading to the return of his Limousin cow, which was stolen from land in Gurteen, Ballymahon.

The cow was witnessed being taken from the field in a black Toyota Land Cruiser and Ifor Williams trailer on Tuesday, 15 October.

The vehicle drove away in the direction of Ballymahon.

Farmer and owner James McNally was informed by neighbouring farmers about the incident. They said the cow drew their attention because she was calling for her five-month-old calf left in the field.

“I live in Longford, but I have that land rented in Ballymahon.

“She [the cow] is scanned and is expecting twins,” McNally told the Irish Farmers Journal. I have reported it to the gardaí in Ballymahon, but I will give a reward to anyone with information that leads to her return.”

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the farmer on 086-855 3317 or Ballymahon Garda Station on 090-643 2303.
