This letter reflects my disappointment with the distribution of the Beef Exceptional Aid Measure (BEAM) fund, now underutilised.

As a beef farmer myself, in addition to my involvement in the mart business, I find it amazing that I should be disadvantaged for choosing to sell my heavy cattle on the open market and, as a mart manager, I regard it as a snub to the importance of our industry.

A marker needs to be laid down that future schemes of this nature respect those producers who use livestock marts.
