Representatives for Kerry Group and members of the leading milk price committee of Kerry co-op have held what has been descripted as a constructive meeting by those involved.
Both sides met yesterday to discuss the contentious issue of Kerry Group’s milk price, a dispute which stems back to 2015. Another meeting between the two has been slated for Thursday 21 November in Tralee.
In September, an independent arbitrator ruled that the four west Cork co-ops should be included in determining the “leading milk price” on a like-for-like basis.

Speaking to the Irish Farmers Journal earlier this week, Kerry Co-op executive secretary Thomas Hunter McGowan said: “"It’s up to Kerry Group to present robust evidence for not paying the 1.4c/l bonus on 2015 milk that we think we’re owed.”
Kerry Group has indicated that its analysis to date suggests that no adjustment is required to the 2015 Kerry milk price payment.
