Pöttinger has just announced that it is to offer an optional inclination sensor on its Impress F and V PRO round baler models.
The sensor is set to optimise the baler’s performance on hilly terrain by adjusting the hydraulic functions on the wrapping system to suit the inclination. This is so that bales are transferred safely even on hills.

Another optional feature only available on Impress PRO machines is the hydraulic knife group selection. Knife groups are selected conveniently from the cab. The PRO range of models will be supplied in the future with no control terminal.
Pöttinger says this is to provide a price advantage for sutomers with ISObus control system. Control units will become an optional extra with the choice of three, the Power Control, Expert and CCI 1200 terminal. Many of the baler’s functions work automatically including the pickup and rear door with semi-automatic play and pause buttons for all automatic functions.
Impress V
Variable chamber machines, the Impress 155V and 185V are fitted with a new feed rotor (replacing chopper rotor) and increased chamber speed of 20% claiming increased throughput capacity. The Impress 155 V is designed for a bale size of 0.8 to 1.55 m, while the Impress 185 V is designed for a bale size of 0.9m to 1.85m.
Baler turners
Impress models now include the option of a bale turner to rotate wrapped bales onto their ends as they are dropped off the wrapping table. The turner can be engaged and disengaged from the operators control panel if required.
