Average dairy prices rose by 2.8% at this week’s Global Dairy Trade (GDT) auction in New Zealand. There has been an increase in prices across the board, with the price of whole milk powder (WMP) lifting by 1.7% to $3,150/t (€2825.11/t).

Skimmed milk powder (SMP) was up by 5.4% to $3,026/t (€3,716/t). This marked the first market lift since a 5.1% fall in December.

Fats

Butter rose by 3.7% to $4,029/t (€3,616/t) and cheddar prices also saw a rise of 3.7% at $4,015/t (€3,604/t).

There was a total of 33,050t sold to 123 winning bidders at the auction.
