There was a strong trade at Saturday’s machinery auction in Portlaoise, according to Hennessy Auctioneers.

A total of 685 lots were up for grabs,with the sale kicking off at 11.30am in the old mart premises. There was a good attendance despite tough weather conditions, with buyers present from across the country.

A spokesperson for Hennessy Auctioneers told the Irish Farmers Journal that trade on the day was very strong, with a clearance rate of over 85%. A number of lots remain under negotiation.

All prices listed are subject to buyers’ fees of 5%, with a maximum fee of €500 per item. Prices below do not include VAT, unless otherwise stated.

The next auction hosted by Hennessy in Portlaoise takes place on Saturday 22 March.

This Kuhn HR3004 power harrow sold for €4,100.
