The labelling of beef, lamb and pork were among 140 food labelling complaints received by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) last year.
Of the 140 complaints, seven were in relation to beef labelling, four for lamb and four for pork.
Over 3,460 consumer complaints were handled in 2019, with over half of those relating to complaints of unfit food and poor hygiene standards.

The FSAI’s advice line also offered advice and information and during 2019, there were 8,964 queries. Some of the most popular queries were regarding legislation on food labelling requirements, the FSAI said.
