The Beef Market Taskforce meeting that was due to take place this month has been called off and will be rescheduled for a later date in light of the latest advice on COIVD-19.

It is the latest in a series of meetings and gatherings that have been called off.

The taskforce last met in January 2020 where discussions were held with retailers about specifications and requirements. Grant Thornton has also been commissioned to undertake an independent study into the retail market and the value breakdown of a carcase.

Members will be provided with a written update on the taskforce’s work to date in the absence of a formal meeting.
