A clearance auction which consisted of a noteworthy fleet of contracting machinery took place last Friday 13 March. Over 120 lots were up for grabs.

Auctioneer Michael Doyle explained: “Trade was good overall. The tractors were a little on the sticky side, but there was serious interest in the implements. A significant crowd attended the auction. We handed out somewhere in the region of 300 to 350 bidding numbers”.

The auction was hosted on behalf of Emmanuel Barry, a retiring agricultural contractor. The Irish Farmers Journal understands that just under €500,000 changed hands on the day, with a number of deals closed since.
