Agri-merchant Quinns of Baltinglass has issued new guidelines to ensure the continued and safe operation of its stores, mills and yards.
The merchant said that these changes were necessary allow them to continue to supply essential farming supplies during the COVID-19 health crisis.
Among the new measures introduced today includes a 'call and collect' system for all agri inputs. The company’s agronomists remain fully available to walk crops for customers on appointment.

Below are some of the measures that Quinns are asking all their farming customers to adhere to during this time. The measures were developed in line with current HSE guidelines.
A call and collect system at all branches will operate from today.
Non-essential paint/gardening/hardware is no longer available due to Government guidance.
Technical sales advisors are available by phone.
Limited number of customers allowed in shop at one time (numbers vary depending on store size).
No browsing – proceed to counter for service.
Limit to one person per party (no children).
Queues marked with 2m gaps (inside and outside the store).
Customers must remain in their vehicles to be loaded.
Card payments where possible.
Delivery
Delivery options are still available for all feed, seed, fertiliser and spray orders. However they advise all farmers to give a minimum of four working days’ notice for delivery orders. Customers are also asked to collect where possible however.
Commenting on the measures, William Quinn said: “The Government has asked everyone to do their bit and Quinns will continue to serve farmers. The farming community has always shown great cooperation in times of need and this time we need it most.”
“Quinns have a great team of dedicated people willing and able to serve through these strange and stressful times” he continued.
