Met Éireann has issued a number of weather warnings for Sunday morning and afternoon.

A yellow rainfall warning is in place for counties Kildare, Laois, Longford, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo.

Heavy and persistent rainfall is expected from 7am until 11pm on Sunday. Totals of up to 40mm are forecast, which may result in some rivers flooding as well as surface flooding.

Wind

A yellow wind warning is in place for counties Donegal, Mayo and Sligo. The northwest coast can expect northwest winds to strengthen on from 6am Sunday until 9pm that night. Gusts will reach up to 100km/h, with mean wind speeds of up to 65km/h expected.

Further down the west coast in counties Galway, Clare and Kerry these northwest winds are expected to reach similar speeds from 12pm until 10pm on Sunday.
