A new European project called BovINE has been developed to assist beef producers in getting access to the latest and most up-to-date technologies from commercial farms and beef research across Europe.
The project, which is being co-ordinated by Teagasc with the IFA as partners, aims to create a network of farmers and other relevant stakeholders in the beef sector across Europe to share useful techniques and practices which farmers are using to address the challenges faced daily on their farms.
It also aims to test the applicability of new research not yet tested in real farm environments by implementing it on demonstration farms across Europe.

The project is holding its first annual public meeting virtually on Tuesday 20 October at 8pm, to present to Irish beef farmers some of the good practices and new research innovations it has looked at in its first year.
In addition to this, a session will be held to identify the challenges which Irish beef farmers are facing on a regular basis.
These challenges will then be fed back through the project’s networking channels to find solutions being applied across the EU.
Farmers who wish to register for the event should email bovine@ifa.ie
