DEAR SIR: I am a farmer’s wife but I’m also a full-time frontline worker. I take care of the children, we have a large family, and all domestic duties.
My concern is as follows. We continue to have contractors into the home for dinner and/or tea during this pandemic. My husband is adamant they should be fed but I’m concerned as they are in different homes every day. Surely it is appropriate at this stage to issue guidelines on this issue? Why should we be allowing workers into homes and risking infection? Can these men not bring their own meals? In normal times, feeding is an extra chore, expense and takes time. However, in these unprecedented times, it is simply an additional risk that I’m not sure is being managed by anyone. This issue needs to be addressed urgently and immediately.
