Total tractor registrations in the UK could fall below 10,000 for the first time since 1998, with sales for the year to date 22% lower than this time in 2019, records from the Agricultural Engineers Association has shown.
In October 2020, just 671 tractors were sold, 100 lower than in October 2019, representing a decline of 13%.
Although this was a smaller fall than those recorded between April and July, it suggests the market remains subdued, with the uncertain climate perhaps affecting farmers' willingness to invest.
