Retail sales of beef continue to surge under lockdown restrictions according to the latest Kantar figures.

The national lockdown continues to boost retail sales of red meat and dairy in Britain.
Information published by market research company Kantar shows that red meat sales in Britain were up 15.1% during January 2021 when compared to the same month last year. That follows an 18% increase in beef sales during December.
Sales of dairy products were also up, rising by 11.8% in January over the same month in 2020. In December, sales of dairy were up 14.1%.

Campaign
The strong sales figures have been helped by the “We Eat Balanced” campaign led by the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) in Britain.
The £1.5m campaign showcased the benefits of dairy and red meat as part of a balanced diet. Feedback indicates that fewer consumers now intend cutting back on dairy and red meat purchases.
In addition, 9% of consumers are now of the opinion that British red meat and dairy products are produced in a more sustainable methods than imported foods.
