Through CEJA (the European Council of Young Farmers), Macra gained six seats on a number of civil dialogue groups.
These groups create a link between the European Commission and agri-stakeholders across all EU member states.

European representation
Macra president Seán Finan will be joining the CAP group and former young farmer of the year John Buckley will be a representative on the milk civil dialogue group.
Both Ronan Byrne and Niall Nicholson retained their seats on the organic and beef group, respectively, while Charlie Smyth will join the poultry and eggs group.
Ray Gilmartin is on the forestry group.
Macra president Seán Finan said that European representation is “very important for young Irish farmers to ensure that their views are expressed at an European level and to contribute to the development of policy which affects our futures and livelihoods”.
