A man has been arrested in Co Down in relation to the theft of 35 ewe lambs.

The PSNI had been investigating the theft of 35 ewe lambs from Rathfriland in Co Down. The ewe lambs were stolen at the start of October. The PSNI carried out searches in the Gilford area of the county.
According to the PSNI, “following a search in the Pine View Court area, a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft, handling stolen goods, possession of a class B drug and extracting electricity. He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.”
The PSNI also said that “animal checks were carried out”.
