Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority are investigating the death of a man in his mid-60s on a farm near Gelsha Cross in Ballinalee.

The man was named locally as Séan Reilly.

The fatality occurred today, Wednesday 28 September, at approximately 5.30pm. According to local sources, the accident involved farm machinery and a loader.

This fatality brings to 14 the number of deaths to occur in the agriculture industry in Ireland so far this year.
