Massey Ferguson will introduce a new tractor range to Ireland at the Ploughing this year, the MF 5700 Global.

This range follows the 4700 Global series launched last year and will be available in two sizes, 100 and 110hp. It is aimed at the small- to medium-sized dairy or stock farmer.

As the name suggests, this tractor will be sold internationally, so it will have to appeal to the masses.

A straightforward 12x12 40km/h transmission with left-hand mechanical reverser takes power from a 4.4 litre Stage IV/ Tier 4 AGCO power engine. Optional power shuttle allows for finger-tip control of direction change.

In the cab, air-conditioning makes it a more comfortable environment. The tractor is fully compatible with the Massey Ferguson 900X loader range and, to feed this, an optional 98 l/min pump can be specified. Rear linkage under the control of electronic hitch control has a capacity of 4,300kg and 540/540E PTO is standard with the option of a 540/1,000rpm PTO or 540/540Eco/1,000rpm PTO.

Another machine that might catch your eye on the Massey Ferguson stand will be the new TL 6030 telehandler. Some of the specification includes three steering modes, a 3,000kg lift capacity to 6.0m and oil flow of 100l/min. The machine is also specified with a hydrostatic transmission and 3.4 litre engine. Depending on the task, there is also a full range of implements available.

Massey Ferguson has also updated its front loaders. Twenty different variations are available in the FL range and can be fitted on Massey Ferguson tractors from 70hp to 400hp. They can be specified with liner or parallel linkage with a wide range of implements.

Lift capacities range from 1,540 to 3270kg with a claimed 30% improvement in visibility and a 50% improvement in durability. Lift range is from 3.55 to 4.96 metres.
