The Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht will attend an IFA poultry meeting in Monaghan on Tuesday night.

The meeting will focus on funding for the poultry sector under the new Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme (TAMS II). The poultry sector is considered to be one of the big winners under TAMS II with the majority of action sought by the IFA ending up in the measures available for poultry farmers.

TAMS II is open to all farmers who meet the eligibility criteria, offering a standard rate of 40% on investment up to a ceiling of €80,000. The first tranche of applications will run for three months, closing towards the end of October. It will be followed by subsequent tranches.

All poultry farmers are encouraged to attend.
