All-Ireland Pedigree Interbreed Suckler Heifer Championship
This hotly contested competition saw a fantastic lineup of pedigree heifers from across all breeds. First place went to Mohill Gemma, a pedigree Shorthorn heifer sired by Dovea Sir James 2nd and owned by the Craig family. Second place also went to a pedigree Shorthorn heifer, owned by Shane McGreal, Co Mayo.
Simmental
The top prize in the Simmental category, judged by David Brickley, Co Laois, went to the Neenan brothers, Ballyhaunis, Co Mayo. Champion Simmental Ferna Destiny was sired by Hercules, with an Anatrim Bodybuilder heifer calf at foot. The reserve champion Simmental went to Michael Oliver, Swinford Co Mayo, for his junior heifer, Elegant Start.
Charolais
This competition saw both champion and reserve going to the McHugh family, Co Mayo.
Limousin
The Limousin category saw Michael Rattigan, Irishtown, Co Mayo, being tapped forward with his September-born heifer, sired by Vantasic.
Shorthorn
In the Shorthorn section, both champion and reserve went to the Flatley brothers for the Glann herd.
Commercial champion
Pat Rosengrave triumphed in the commercial category with his two-year-old Charolais cross bullock. The reserve champion prize went to the Maxwell brothers, with their Belgian Blue cross cow and KGB-sired calf at foot.
Young handlers
Coming out on top in the under-12 section was Patricia Moore, Co Mayo, with her pedigree 2015-born Limousin bull calf. The under-16 section saw Daniel Moloney, Ardnacrusha, Co Clare, in first position.
