According to the Department, 354 farmers received a total of €1.24m after their claims were cleared this week.

This is an improvement on recent payment runs, with only 108 farmers paid last week, 241 the week before and 130 previously.

However, this still leaves more than 2,300 farmers in the GLAS system, with around half dealing with Department queries on their payment claims and the other half waiting for the Department to clear a backlog of files on a case-by-case basis.
