Most economical tractor to appear at Cereals Event

John Deere’s new record-breaking 8400R tractor makes its first appearance at the Cereals Event in June this year. The 400hp 8400R tractor recently set three new world records for fuel efficiency (field and transport) and maximum drawbar performance at the DLG test station in Germany. It beat its nearest competitors by almost 23% in drawbar performance and lowered the combined fluid consumption figure for field work to only 247g/kWh.

This translates into 6% higher pulling capacity and a reduction in fuel consumption of up to 2% compared with the previous top-of-the-range 8370R model, enabling wider implements to be used to increase productivity and maximise total fluid efficiency.

Powered by a new John Deere nine-litre Stage IV-compliant engine and featuring an e23 transmission with Efficiency Manager, the 8400R delivers up to 450hp with intelligent power management (IPM).

This tractor is also fitted as standard with JDLink telematics, including remote display access (RDA) and wireless data transfer (WDT) linked to the MyJohnDeere.com website portal.

Grassland & Muck

Grassland & Muck UK is happening on 24 and 25 May. Here are some of the machines which are being launched at the show:

PÖttinger’s new Impress round balers will be making their UK and Irish debut. With newly designed fixed and variable chamber balers, they boast a chopping unit with up to 32 knives, fed by the unique LIFTUP rotor technology to ensure consistent chop length.

In the working machinery area, John Deere will be making its UK public working demonstration debut with three new launches: The 6250R tractor with its award-winning CommandPRO joystick; the premium C441R wrapping baler and the innovative Manure Sensing system.

Quicke’s new Q-Series front loader will also be launched. They claim it is set to revolutionise and digitalise tractor loader handling. This is the first time it will be in action on these islands.

There is a strong contingent of Irish manufacturers heading over, including McHale, Connor, Cross, Malone, Hispec, Abbey, Broughan, Major, Tanco, Keenan and Prodig, which will all be showing their latest machines at the show.
