When the new year begins, farmers in Northern Ireland will no longer receive negative declaration letters following BVD testing. Letters will be sent out in cases of positive results, inconclusive results, no sample received and identification of a Dam of a Persistently Infected animal (DAMPI) or Offspring of a Persistently Infected animal (OFFPI).
Herdowners who have nominated a mobile phone number to Animal Health and Welfare NI (AHWNI) will continue to receive results via SMS text message. Any farmer that wants to receive these messages can text their Herd Number to 073-40023814.
Nominated veterinary practices will still have access to their herdowners’ results. These results can also be accessed and printed off by going to http://www.animalhealthni.com and logging on using your Government Gateway ID and password (issued by DAERA).
