Dr William Minchin has joined MSD Animal Health, a supplier of animal medicines, as marketing manager for ruminant medicines. In his new role, Dr Minchin will be involved in developing communications campaigns on the prevention and control of disease in cattle and sheep.

Dr Minchin is from an intensive beef farm in Leighlinbridge, Co Carlow, and graduated from UCD in 2005 with a degree in agricultural science. He completed a PhD in animal science at Teagasc Moorepark in 2008 and then spent two years as a research scientist at Teagasc Grange, working on beef production systems. Dr Minchin joins MSD Animal Health from Zoetis, where he was livestock product manager. He has been a member of the Carlow senior football team for the past 12 years.
