Knowledge Transfer event

An interactive evening of information, presentation of three-year-olds and lively debate with HSI stallion inspectors/sport horse producers Andrew Gardiner and Tiernan Gill will take place at Upper Mace Stables and Trekking Center, Barnacarrol. Knock, Co Mayo at 7pm on Friday 19 May.

Talking points on the night will include:

• The French auction model FENCES. French-based Ken Rehill of the Stallion Company will discuss this model (you can visit the website fences.fr for more information).

• 25% of annual foal registrations are born in the west of Ireland, we will discuss whether an auction house/elite sale is required in the west.

Waterford Country Show

Waterford Country Fair IPS Show runs at Curraghmore Estate in Portlaw on Sunday, 11 June.

The charity fundraiser, which is this year in aid of Make-A-Wish Ireland, features a wealth of competitions with all classes affiliated to the IPS and run under their rules. The entry fee on the day is just €15 with entries all being taken on the day. The IPS classes begin from 11am. The two side saddle competitions run from midday and the two Irish Draft classes begin from approximately 3pm.

Allen at Mount Juliet

In a unique bringing together of quality Bertram Allen is to make the well appointed equestrian centre at Mount Juliet, in Kilkenny, his Irish training base. Starting in mid – July he will run small group clinics there over the next three years.

His competition yard is in Germany but by using beautiful Mount Juliet he will now be available to riders from home and abroad for both intensive and relaxed training.
